Basel Social Club during Art Basel

During the upcoming Art Basel, the Basel Social Club will take over a former UBS office complex next to the SBB railway station in Basel as a temporary cultural venue.
The space will host a dynamic mix of:
contemporary art exhibitions
food and dining experiences
parties and nightlife events
social and cultural gatherings
Before the building becomes the future home of the cantonal finance department, it will temporarily be transformed into one of the city’s most vibrant creative hubs during Art Basel week.
Over the past years, Basel Social Club has become known as one of the most influential off-program destinations around Art Basel, combining contemporary art, music, performance, and international cultural networking in a unique atmosphere.
The former office complex is being reimagined as a space for critical reflection. This year, the Basel Social Club places questions around work, time, and productivity at the center of its program.
“Once a symbol of growth and efficiency, the office today has become emblematic of shifting working realities. In an era shaped by digitalization, remote work, and artificial intelligence, many of these spaces have turned into vacant infrastructures.”
At the heart of the event, however, is gastronomy, presented as an integral part of the overall experience. An exclusive fine-dining concept will serve as the anchor of the culinary program, complemented by locally developed food concepts across different price categories — reflecting the inclusive spirit of the Basel Social Club.
With free public access, the Social Club positions itself as a counterpoint to the often highly exclusive events surrounding Art Basel. For the first time this year, the program will also feature a dedicated nightlife and after-dark experience.
Open starting from Sunday, 14 June 4pm, free entry
